IT solution provider companies typically handle some part of another company’s IT landscape and vary dramatically in the scope of their work. These technology providers usually work with small to medium enterprises (SMEs) or with larger companies that have relatively light IT needs. For large enterprises, it is often cost effective to have all IT duties handled in-house, as the overhead cost is more spread out.
Cloud services have become increasingly common in recent years because it simplifies computing costs for small companies and start-ups. Cloud computing ensures that companies will have peak capacity when they need it without paying for dormant capacity when usage is low.
One of the appeals of hiring an outside IT solution provider is getting a turnkey IT solution that was designed especially for the client’s needs after extensive consultation. Hiring enough experts to get such service in-house is often prohibitively expensive.
Value Added Resellers (VARs) sell hardware and software that may be available through other channels, but provide installation, maintenance, training, and other support services that would not otherwise be available.
