3 Computer Repair Franchises With Low Initial Investments

Putting 3 Computer Repair Franchises With Low Initial Investmentstogether the cash to start a business can be a challenge in the best economic times.

When banks are reluctant to lend and sinking home values push down your net worth, investing in a computer repair franchise might seem daunting.

But there are a number of franchises that don't require a large injection of money up front.

Computer Medics of America, Inc.

Computer Medics bases its franchise fee on the population of your service area.

For regions with fewer than 150,000 people, the fee is $5,000; it increases by $2,000 for each additional 100,000 in population up to 850,000, which costs $19,000.

There are no net worth or liquid asset requirements other than $2,000 set aside for startup inventory, parts, and a laptop, though local taxes and fees might bump the total investment cost to just over $10,000 at the low end.

Computer Medics of America includes training costs in the franchise fee.

There is a renewal fee equal to 25% of the initial fee after 5 years, and every 10 years after that. The complete breakdown is on the Computer Medics of America franchise costs page.

Nerds We Can Fix That

Selling its opportunity as "The smallest cash investment," Nerds We Can Fix That sets their computer repair franchise fee at $6,950.

The fee secures your rights to the franchise for five years and includes a territory of 100,000 people.

It also requires a net worth of at least $13,300, and $5,000 of available liquid cash, as well as an ongoing 10% royalty.

Total startup costs are estimated at anywhere from $13,390 to $39,440. You can inquire further on the Nerds We Can Fix That franchise information page.

Concerto Networks

While not strictly a franchise, Concerto Networks offers an inexpensive way to join an association of computer consultants with access to business management tools and a help desk. The initial fee is $799 with a monthly subscription of $199. Details can be found on the Concerto Networks Membership home page.
