Need IT Sales Leads 10 Ways to Generate More Leads Right AwayOne of the biggest frustrations that I hear from small IT companies is that they are not generating enough IT sales leads.

This usually means that they have a disconnect somewhere in their IT sales strategy or that they are not getting out there and proactively engaging their target audience.

There are plenty of actions that you can take from an IT marketing and sales perspective to help kick-start your lead generation process today:

  1. Attend networking events within your local business and niche communities to work on obtaining word-of-mouth referrals.

  2. Join up with a group of local business service providers to organize a seminar, advice clinic, or workshop for the local business community.

  3. Consider running some print advertising in your local newspaper or a trade journal aimed at your niche.

  4. Sponsor a prize or a table at an industry event.

  5. Drive more organic search traffic to your website by optimizing your content for the search terms that your IT sales leads would use.

  6. Engage in a social media marketing campaign. Use an integrated social media strategy to build your authority and reputation across platforms and within your target market.

  7. Prospect for leads using the search and InMail facilities on LinkedIn.

  8. Run a Facebook ads campaign aimed directly at your target demographics.

  9. Run a (PPC) Pay Per Click campaign using one or more of the search engine advertising platforms. If you target your adverts properly, you can see good results from both Bing and Google.

  10. Cold calling has a bad reputation, but a well-targeted and well-thought-out call will still get you leads.

Leads will not just come to you; you need to be proactive in seeking them out.

Take some time and implement some of the above strategies and you will generate many more IT sales leads.

Hi kittie, 
Some great points on effective networking and getting leads. Would love to have more insight on point 7, using Linkedin effectively to build relationships. I would just like to add, not to get disheartened if it don't get through the first time, follow up is necessary, at time the end client is very occupied with other things and was not just planning on having your service on idea in their agenda, but if you are good, they will definitely revisit you and might think.

You said it all. Thanks for sharing. We have just started using LinkedIn and it works well. Lead generation is never been easy but coupled with right tactics and attitude you can get what you want.
