The Computer Consulting Startup Kit was a self-paced training program for new owners of small business IT companies, including technology consulting businesses, VARs, PC repair businesses, and system integrators -- mainly in the USA, Canada, the UK, and Australia.
Contents
The training program included:
-
Downloadable special reports
-
Downloadable templates, worksheets, and forms
-
Teleseminar recordings -- which for a very brief time shipped on cassette tape, then on audio CD, and then ultimately in downloadable file format
Timeline
The Computer Consulting Startup Kit was first released in March 2003 and assembled a collection of related standalone special reports, templates, worksheets, and forms, and teleseminar audio recordings.
While the training course got positive customer feedback and sold quite well, a more comprehensive version, the Computer Consulting 101 Professional Kit ($397 US), with approximately double the contents, and the Ultimate Service Agreement ($97 US), with approximately one half of the contents, were often confused with the Computer Consulting Startup Kit ($197 US) and created some minor pre-sales and post-sales problems.
The Computer Consulting Startup Kit was replaced by the much more comprehensive Computer Consulting Kit Home Study Course and Computer Consulting Kit Club in March 2007, with support for the Computer Consulting Startup Kit discontinued at the end of 2008.
Pivot
In 2013, the publisher began pivoting its core business model from training to implementation.
Because of dramatic market shifts in B2B purchasing cycles, where search, social, mobile, and cloud makes many traditional interruption-centric marketing channels anywhere from much less effective to obsolete, the company rebranded as SP Home Run Inc. and now provides outsourced Inbound marketing services for B2B technology companies.
